Clubroot Test Wins 2008 AGInnovations Award

The 2008 Agri-Trade Show in Red Deer announced the winners in early November of the first ever AGInnovations Award and 20/20 Seed Labs Inc was pleased to find out that it had won an award for the commercialization of the Clubroot Test.

The soil test for clubroot was originally developed by the University of Alberta but was further refined and enhanced by 20/20 Seed Labs Inc by developing proprietary DNA extraction procedures to allow it to be practically used on a commercial scale providing greater sensitivity and confidence in the results. The test is offered on both soil and plant tissue.

Clubroot is a serious soil-borne disease of cruciferous crops. In canola, it causes galls to form on the roots, which ultimately causes premature death of the plant. More information can be found in the 20/20 Seed Labs Inc Tech Bulletin http://www.2020seedlabs.ca/tech_bulletin.php?id=40 and at the Canola Council of Canada website http://www.clubroot.ca

Please contact 20/20 Seed Labs Inc at 1-877-420-2099 for more information on clubroot testing or for any other seed testing questions.
